Every once in a while I like to splurge on junk food, and ANW definitely has one of the best cures for that in Dhaka.

Gulshan Club & Chef Atish Huq
Another Dinner at the Huqqleberries: This time we ordered out from Gulshan Club!
Chinese fried chicken, fried prawns, fried rice and and Beef with mushrooms.
But my most facourite dish of the whole meal, was Atish's AMAZING black mushrooms and Greens in oyster sauce. IT was the most perrrrfect blend of sweet and sauce. YUMMMM, i gotta go back for more!

Cathay after Centuries
The second I entered Cathay with my mom, they stared at me as if "how?" The reason behind this is because, my parents have been taking me there since I was a baby, yet last 10ish years I never had a chance to go.
So we went with BdeshGirl and her mom, a mothers & daughters session.
The decor is the typcial Bengali Chinese restaurant. The Food was fantastic.
We devoured deep friend prawn on toast, mixed fried rice, a veggy dish (i forget) and a Chicken black bean sauce.
I have to say Im not a fan of non authentic Chinese, but the Fried rice was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! Highly recommend it. Will definitely have more Flyly from this place in the future.

Pohela Baishakh Khana
14th April is Bengali New Year, and it's famous for its speciality foods!
This year I went back to Charukola, the Dhaka University Art Department. Here are some of the things we ate throughout the morning:
starting the day with my Favouritest Ice cream ever: Green Lolly!!
My burger fanatic friend Farhan- Had to eat the Bengali Burger:
Had some Tehari Mid morning (meat and rice dish)
Then of course some phuchka
And top it off with Chotpoti:
Mum and friends all had lunch plans (yes I still ate after the hearty breakfast)
So I had a solo lunch in peace on my bed, Mum joined in for a few bites before she left lol:
Here's Elish jhol (Hilsa curry), Bhetki Shoshhe Jhol , Potol Do piyaza, Begun Tok (Eggplant dish), Aam Daal (Lentils with Ripe mangoes)- YUMMMMS
So all in all, the Bengali new year opened with some Yummy Food for me :D

Royal Thai- So So
So I've been trying to write about the great places I eat at, but I guess eventually I had to give a mixed review about Somewhere..
We were super excited to eat at the new place in Gulshan called Royal Thai, and 5 of us headed there. But we were not really impressed much. The portions were smaller compared to its prices, and the food was regular Thai restaurant food.
We had black pepper squid, steamed fish, fish cake and green curry. Of these only the green curry was something I'd have a 2nd time. Other than that the fish cakes' portion was tiny, and steamed fish was regular.
So I'd say, I'd rather have Chong Shing steamed fish and fish cake, and Regency's green curry, but having said that, since it's in Gulshan I did end up ordering the green curry again, on a super craving day. So I guess I'm saying you can try it, if you're options are limited.
