Lunch by the Lakeshore

Samdado closing their lunch early led us to the nearest restaurant. It was my first time there and I was very impressed. The beautiful afternoon sun shone through the windows overlooking the lake and bridge, while we had a beautiful lunch.
My order was stuffed chicken with mushrooms in cream sauce..Yumm

Shusmi's was the club sandwhich: Egg and salmon on one side, and chicken on the other
And Nusha's steak- steak of course is yet to be "real steak" in Dhaka, but it was not that bad.
And this was my pretty drink of fresh orange juice :D

So I'm heavily impressed with this place, and will be back for SURE!

Old Dhaka's Hajir Biryani

Another sleepover at S&S's ended up with all of us not sleeping and staying up till 7:30 to go to old dhaka to get Hajir Biryani and Nehari.

The last time I've had Hajir Biyrani was so far back that I cant even recall it, and it was a first for me for the Nehari.

As Saifu has named it: here is the "prayer man's rice:" hehehe

With some kacha morich and peyaj (chilli and onion)

Nehari- the lovely Sharmin devouring away.
And yes of course we washed the food down with the edge of Coca Cola.

The lot gobbling down over meal at 8am after which we laughed so hard i think we almost burned all the calories off..

Bangali Chinese

At saif and Simin's tonight. One if saif's daily phone calls prompted a random stayover to continue our daily conversations on the phone to a more "live" setting. I was having a craving for soup so the couple suggested ordering from their local Chinese place Lin Chin.

So we had our very own Bangali version of chinese.

1. Clear Thai soup with prawn and chicken

2. Sweet and sour prawn

3. Bangali fried chicken!

4. Fried rice

Midnight Goodies

I was on a veggie diet during my best friends' weddings so, when we planned the "girl's night in" I had instructed our host Shusmi to keep the midnight snacking healthy for me.

The sweetheart she is, she actually listened and made tablefull of terribly yummy veggy dips!

    Baba Ganoush

Sautee'd Veggies
Olives/garlic etc dip

 Cucumber Yogurt Dip

Tuna is soya sauce- was quite an interesting mix!

Toasted Bread with Tomato mix and parmesan..slurp

Our Beautiful Host who made these scrumptious snacks.  :-)

My new single Graceland!
